I’m married, so I buy gifts for both myself and my husband. I’ll probably make some brownies and we can watch something good on tv together. Sweet and simple.
Lingerie is nice if you really are in love with that person but myself if its done with though and from the heart who cares what the gift is! lol References :

Personally I want something from the heart. The best Valentines day gift I got came from the heart. It was three years ago, and we had been married 20 yrs.My husband bought popurri, candles, matching picture frames and vase. He made smaller copies of 2 wedding pictures of us. He also bought a single red rose for the vase. He placed it all into the basket. I have the pictures on my desk at work. And the basket is in our family room. Daily reminders of his love. it depends on your relationship to the person you will be giving the gift to. are you intimately related or just friends?
personally, i prefer to receive all of the above! References :
I do almost all the cooking in our house and we have young kids that my wife is absolutely addicted to so I usually prepare a special meal, complete with candles, music, chocolate covered strawberries and wine. We all enjoy dinner together and then spend the evening watching movies or playing board games. References :
Honestly it depends on the woman . I personally dont like boxed chocolates so my guy always puts a 10 pack of Reeces cups with my gift because they are my favorite , flowers are always nice however they are sooo expensive on Valentines Day so I suggest that if you do go with flowers dont get roses get a mixed bouqet they are cheaper , they last longer , and they are just as beautiful . I am not big into balloons one or two attached to a gift wouldnt be bad though and as far as lingerie goes I like to receive from my man but we have been together for years if I were new into a relationship regardless of whether or not you have intimate I would wait on it unless you have been together atlest 6 months or more . In all honesty whatever you get we will love as long as it is heartfelt !!! References :
